Slurry pumps and centrifugal pumps are designed for different working conditions. Centrifugal pumps are mainly used for clean water or low-solid liquids in water supply, irrigation and drainage. Slurry pumps are built for abrasive solids in mining, coal washing, mineral processing and wastewater applications. If your medium contains sand, particles or high solid concentration, choose a slurry pump. If the medium is clean water, a centrifugal pump is usually more suitable.
